The Dynamic New Athletics under 20s International Meeting takes place in Madrid next Wednesday (22nd February) and Galway have four participants representing Ireland.
It's a fast paced sequence of events lasting around two hours with teams scoring points based on each of 11 events.
Included in Ireland's 18-person team are Craughwell's Evan Hallinan, Athenry's Liam Shaw and South Galway's David Mannion as they take on Czech Republic, Great Britain, France, Spain and Portugal.
The fourth Irish member from the county is Emma Moore from Galway City Harriers who'll compete in 800m and she has been chatting to Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly about her return to competitive action following a two-year absence.
The DNA Under 20 Athletics meeting takes place in Madrid on Wednesday starting at 10.30am Irish time.
