Athenry Golf Club will be hosting a special induction day for prospective, new and returning members on Saturday 4th March at its clubhouse in Palmerstown, Oranmore Co. Galway.
The open day is aimed at all categories of players from beginner to senior, to inform them and allow them experience firsthand the extensive facilities for golfers at Athenry.
Now 115 years old, the club enjoys the fruits of a long-term development programme, particularly in the last decade. Highlights include a luxurious clubhouse, bar and restaurant; professional golf shop and sheltered driving range with access to a number of PGA professionals for tuition.
The par 70 course that will challenge the scratch golfer and also please senior golfers into their 80s, covers a colorful, gentle landscape of tree-lined, verdant fairways and excellent greens. A major course drainage project for 2017 will ensure the continued enjoyment for golfers in this essentially un-crowded course.
The Open Day will kick off with a meet and greet with other new and established members at 10am followed by a complimentary breakfast. Declan Cunningham PGA/Golfstyle will give a golf clinic at the practice range at 11.15am.
A fun 9-hole mixed team event will follow with tee times from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
This is a novel and valuable opportunity to find out how Athenry GC is about much more than just golf, in this warm, friendly and welcoming club.
