Eight years after their memorable journey to All-Ireland success, Annaghdown are back in a provincial decider when they contest the AIB Connacht intermediate ladies football final on Sunday (3rd November 2024) against Sligo's Drumcliffe Rosses Point.
The Corribsiders beat Oughterard in the county final before accounting for Leitrim's St. Francis (1-10 to 2-5) in the Connacht quarter-final. And then last week, Clara Nally's late goal secured victory over Roscommon's St. Ciaran's.
Drumcliffe Rosses Point also got a late penalty to get over Mayo's Castlebar Mitchels and earn their place against Martin O'Neill's team.
Galway All-Ireland winner Niamh Duggan was joint captain when Annaghdown last enjoyed national success and is a current selector with the team. She has been chatting to Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly.
Throw-in at Swinford Amenity Park on Sunday is 12.30pm.
