Two Galway United Players Named in Ireland Women's U17 Squad

The Ireland Women's Under-17s will travel to Spain with a squad of 20 players for their UEFA Women's Under-17 European Championship Round 1 Qualifiers. Included in Head Coach James Scott's cut were Galway United pair Heather Loomes and Ava Mullins.

The Girls in Green have recently played five games - against Northern Ireland, Portugal & Cymru - to prepare for these Group A6 games and have been clicking well.

Head Coach James Scott knows the challenge to advance further in this competition will be difficult after being drawn into a difficult group, but it is a task that his players and support staff will embrace.

Scott will have Stephanie Zambra as part of his coaching staff as she starts on the Player to Coach Programme that was recently introduced as part of the Football Pathways Plan.

The squad includes players who helped Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers win the EA SPORTS LOI WU19 & WU17 Cups respectively, while Athlone Town's Maeve Wollmer featured in both of those Finals as well as the Sports Direct Women's FAI Cup Final.
