After their draw in Derry, Galway will aim to get back to winning ways this Sunday (23rd February 2025) when they host Donegal in Round 4 of Division 1 of the Allianz National Football League.
It's a meeting of the top two with Jim McGuinness' visitors on six points, one ahead of Padraic Joyce's charges. The last time they met in competitive action was the 2024 All-Ireland Football semi-final when Paul Conroy's goal was the difference in a Galway 1-14 to 0-15 victory.
Their last league meeting was a 1-9 apiece draw in Letterkenny in 2023; A Colm McFadden goal gave Donegal a 1-16 to 0-12 when they last played in Salthill in 2014; but even though they won twice away since, Galway's last home win over the Tir Conaill men was back in 2009 when Michael Meehan scored 1-9 in a 1-16 to 0-12 result.
Leading up to the game, Galway All-Ireland winner Seán Ó Domhnaill joined Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly, and they also looked back on An Cheathrú Rua's recent All-Ireland junior championship success.
