Following four games on the road including a trip to Scotland, Annaghdown have finally earned a home game against Cork's O'Donovan Rossa this Sunday (1st December) in the AIB All-Ireland intermediate ladies football semi-final.
The north Galway team won their first Galway and Connacht crowns in eight years and looked on form in a 4-11 to 0-8 win over Dunedin Connolly's in Edinburgh last week.
Their opponents have also been riding the crest of a wave after being crowned All-Ireland junior champions in 2023. And with Cork and Munster success already, that's five major trophies in less than 18 months.
Rachel King was Annaghdown's All-Ireland final goalscorer in 2016 when they beat Armagh's Shane O'Neill's in Parnell Park. She caught up with Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly to look back on that historic run and how she thinks the class of 2024 will fare.
