Galway Bay fm newsroom - A planning application for new car and bus parking facilities at Portumna Castle has been lodged with the county council.
The Office of Public Works is seeking planning permission to demolish an existing vacant bungalow at the castle, which is a protected structure.
The development would include the construction of a new car park and bus set down area.
A decision is expected from the county council in August.
