GRETB Dunmore Open Day
GRETB Dunmore is hosting its open day on Tuesday, March 11th with a host of activities and information sessions planned. The further education centre offers courses in childcare, special needs assisting, digital media, podcasting, journalism, horticulture and culinary, with new and exciting courses being added all the time.
John Morley will host a special edition of Galway Talks live from the centre on Tuesday 11th and Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre will also be present. There will be delicious food and refreshments provided by the culinary students.
The open day takes place from 9am-1pm on March 11th and you will have an opportunity to meet the tutors and students and learn about all the courses on offer in Dunmore.
GRETB Dunmore is the first further education centre to be awarded the Pieta House Amber Flag for creating a healthy and inclusive environment that supports the mental wellbeing of their students and staff.

Centre Manager Una Canavan says, “Further education is for everyone, and we should always keep learning. Courses can be done full or part-time or you can even do one module at a time – it can easily blend with everything else you have in your life. We have learners in our centre aged 18-80 and there is something for everyone so come along on the day and take that first step.”

This year, we have 13 learners travelling to Sweden and there are more exciting destinations in the pipeline for the future.
Over 200 learners recently graduated from GRETB Dunmore in Level 4, 5 and 6 courses, and many have since gone on to third level education or work successfully in many industries.
