Costcutter is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest store—Coady’s Costcutter at Bonham Quay, right in the heart of Galway. Just a short five-minute stroll from Eyre Square, this new store is owned by local businessman Liam Coady, who also runs Coady’s Costcutter in Oranmore. As part of Costcutter’s rebrand, the Bonham Quay location is designed to meet the needs of the local community and urban visitors with a fresh, modern take on convenience shopping.
The grand opening is set for this Wednesday the 9th October, with Galway Bay FM broadcasting live from the store between 12 pm and 3 pm. There’ll be food tastings, giveaways, and a family-friendly spinning wheel where you can win some fantastic prizes.
Coady’s Costcutter at Bonham Quay is much more than your typical convenience store. It offers a wide range of services that locals and day trippers will love, from the Market St. Deli, where hot and cold food is prepared fresh every day, to Urban Sips Coffee, serving up the perfect cup—whether you’re after a latte, flat white, or a refreshing iced coffee. For a sweet treat, the Freezi Licks Ice Cream counter has all the favourites, including 99s, sundaes, and milkshakes with loads of toppings to choose from. The store also features a hot and cold salad bar for those looking for something healthy, and a large seating area complete with Wi-Fi, charging points, and baby-changing facilities, making it a welcoming spot to sit back and relax.
The store also honours the rich heritage of Bonham Quay, with touches of local history throughout, such as a vintage diving helmet and nods to the Spanish Armada, which has a deep connection to the area.
