Road Race Fixtures
A busy Christmas period lies ahead across Galway as the winter road racing season kicks off soon. The Goal Mile takes place in two locations in the city on Christmas Day – in Doughiska at the Community Garden at 11 am and in Dangan at the University Sports Grounds, on the track between 10 am and 12 noon—donations to Goal taken on the day or in advance on iDonate web page.
Athenry AC host their famed Fields of Athenry 10k, on 26th December, St Stephens Day at 11 am. Race HQ is at the old Presentation School in the town, and a bumper field of over 1,500 runners is expected. The event is always a sell-out and attracts a very high-quality field.
Galway City Harriers organize the Resolution Run, on 1st January 2025, New Year's Day in Galway City at 10.15 am. Race HQ is the Claddagh Hall, starting at Grattan Road, and finishing at Nimmos Pier.
