European Selection for Fitzgerald and Everard
William Fitzgerald of Craughwell AC has been selected on the Irish Senior Team for the SPAR European Cross Country 2024 in Turkey on 7th December. The European Cross Country is the most important cross-country event on the European calendar, attracts the best running talent from across the continent, and has huge media coverage worldwide. Fitzgerald will join National champion Keelan Kilreehil, Sean Tobin, Efrem Gidey, Cormac Dalton and Pierre Murchan on the Irish squad alongside some of the very best in the world - including Jakob Ingebrigtsen of Norway, Yemen Crippa of Italy, Hugo Milner of the UK and many other incredible athletes. He earned his place on the starting line with a remarkable 5th-place senior finish in the National Cross Country in Irvinestown. The University of Galway and Bandon AC athlete Fiona Everard has also been selected on a strong Women’s squad for the upcoming European Cross Country championships.
