Red Bull Showrun set to draw thousands of F1 fans to Galway

The countdown is on for the Red Bull Showrun which comes to Salthill on Sunday week, November 17th. Thousands of Formula One fans are expected to descend on Galway next weekend to catch a glimpse of World Champions Oracle Red Bull Racing put on a spectacle of speed along the Prom.

The event quickly sold out following its announcement last month, but those who missed out now have another chance to get tickets. A limited number of tickets have been released to the public today and are on sale now at www.RedBull.ie/F1Galway.

British Formula One legend David Coulthard leads an exciting lineup of motorsport stars set to perform, with ‘DC’ and Austrian driver Patrick Friesacher getting behind the wheels of two RB7s, Red Bull’s championship-winning car from 2011 driven by Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

The event kicks off at 7pm, with gates open from 4.30 pm. The action is expected to conclude at 8.30 pm.

Those who were lucky enough to secure tickets to the now-sold-out Garage Display in Salthill will get the opportunity to see the iconic RB7 up close, along with the car of drift star Jack Shanahan and Dougie Lampkin’s trials bike, who will also be performing on the day. The display takes place on Sunday from 11 am to 2.30 pm. Those with tickets to the garage display are asked to arrive no more than 15 mins before the time slot marked on their tickets. For more information and to keep up with all of Sunday’s motorsport action, follow @RedBullIre on Instagram or on Tik-Tok.

The Red Bull F1 Showrun will take place on the Upper Salthill Road (Salthill Promenade) between Salthill Carpark and Blackrock Tower.

This is a ticketed event, those without a ticket will not be permitted entry to the event:

Adult: €22 (excluding booking fee)

Child: €11.60 (excluding booking fee)

The Upper Salthill Road will be closed between Blackrock Tower and the Seapoint Roundabout from 3 pm to 9:30 pm on Sunday, 17th November to facilitate the safe running of the event. Access to Leisureland will be maintained via Rockbarton Road, and access to Salthill Hotel will be maintained via Rockbarton Road West.

The Salthill Car Park and Salthill Promenade will be closed for parking on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November.

There is ample car parking options in Galway City and we encourage patrons to use these car parks and walk, cycle, or take public transport (401 Bus) to the event. Galway City Council Car Parks in the City Centre will be free after 5pm.

Patrons should note that this is a strictly alcohol free event. The event is family-friendly. Please make sure you arrive early in order to secure a good spot.  Typical of any motorsports event, the show will be loud. We recommend to bring and wear ear protection, particularly for children.
