The independent National Appeals Committee (NAC) has ruled that Maree won’t be permitted to compete in this season’s Pat Duffy National Cup, however their points penalty in the 2024/25 Men’s Super League has been reduced by six, to 18 points, following an appeals hearing on Wednesday evening.
This weekend’s scheduled Pat Duffy National Cup game between Maree and Garvey’s Tralee Warriors will now revert to a Men's Super League fixture, played at the Tralee Sport Complex at 1930 on Saturday 9th November.
Maree still have the option to appeal the National Appeals Committee (NAC) decision to the Sports Disputes Solution Ireland (SDSI) for arbitration. Maree have five days to notify the SDSI should they intend to appeal.
Basketball Ireland will be making no further comment on the matter.
