MEP candidate Lisa Chambers calls for greater state support of Knock Airport

MEP candidate for this region, Fianna Fail’s Lisa Chambers, is calling for greater state support for Ireland West Airport Knock.

She says this could be achieved by raising the Passenger Cap on the Regional Airports Programme, from 1 million to 3 million.

Senator Chambers says Knock Airport has clear ambition for growth – but they cannot lose vital capital and operational funding delivered through the Regional Airports Programme.

She describes the existing cap as restricting the potential of the airport – and impeding the advancement of the regional economy.
