Wireless Group Competition Rules

These terms and conditions apply to all competitions featured on-air on Galway Bay Fm or online on Galway Bay Fm website galwaybayfm.ie
You are deemed to accept these terms and conditions when you enter a competition, together with any specific terms for such competition which may be mentioned on-air, in any messages or on this website.

If you do not agree with any of these terms and conditions then you should not enter the competition. If there is any inconsistency between these competition terms and conditions and any such competition information, the competition information shall prevail.
These terms and conditions may be amended or varied at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on Galway Bay FM website galwaybayfm.ie It is your responsibility to ensure you review these terms and conditions regularly to familiarise yourself with any changes. We recommend that you print and store or save a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference.

1: ENTRY

1.1 Entry is open to residents of Republic of Ireland (ROI) unless otherwise specified.
1.2 Employees of Galway Bay Fm, its parent group The Connacht Tribune Group, and any associated group companies, prize sponsor and/or agencies associated with our competitions anCompetition Rules

Wireless Group Competition Rules

These terms and conditions are the competition rules (“Rules”) that apply to all competitions (“Competitions”) organised by or on behalf of Wireless Group Limited and all of its subsidiary companies (in each case, the “Promoter”). For the purposes of these Rules, the term “Promoter” shall also include (a) all radio stations operated by any member of the Wireless Group Limited, and (b) all agents, sponsors and event promoters involved in organising Competitions through or on behalf of any member of the Wireless Group Limited.
In addition to the Rules, other specific terms and conditions may apply to a particular Competition (“Specific Rules”). Such Specific Rules will be posted on the relevant Promoter’s website and will be deemed incorporated into these Rules. In the event of any discrepancy between these Rules and the Specific Rules, the Specific Rules shall prevail.
By entering a Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and any Specific Rules that may apply.

The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend any Competition, these Rules or any Specific Rules at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted either within these Rules or the Specific Rules or on the relevant Promoter’s website. The Promoter may at any time, without notice, issue further terms and conditions to be read in conjunction with these Rules and any Specific Rules that may apply.
Participation in the Competition - *only club coaches/managers may apply on behalf of the club. Each entrant must be over 18 years of age and resident in the Republic of Ireland to enter Competitions.

Officers, employees and agents of the Promoter and any party associated or directly connected to or with the specific Competition (including sponsors) and their families, officers, employees and agents (as applicable) and anyone who has won a prize on any radio station or website operated by the Promoter within the last 12 months are not eligible to enter any Competition.

Proof of making a phone call, sending a post or email is not proof of our receipt of your entry. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed or damaged or otherwise affected by matters outside our control.
Where a Competition has a closing date and/or time, all entries must be received before such date and/or time. Late entries will not be taken into consideration in the selection of a winner.

For competitions which involve a winner being selected via a public vote, See entry details below. Entrants must use their legal name and must register a valid email address to be entitled to vote. Entrant IP addresses may be logged for
monitoring purposes. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any vote if it has reasonable grounds to believe that it has not been cast in accordance with these Rules and any Specific Rules.

Callers are not necessarily entitled to participate in on-air Competitions and will not necessarily appear on-air in the order in which they are called. The Promoter shall not be liable to reimburse callers for telephone charges when either on hold or on-air. Where the situation arises, only the person who is selected to come to air (if applicable) is eligible to win if they give the correct answer.

The Promoter reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the Competition (including altering prizes) if, in its sole discretion, the Competition is not capable of being conducted as specified. In the event of a printing or other error resulting in there being more winners or runner ups than prizes for the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right to (a) declare as void any claims or entries resulting from such printing or other error; and/or (b) allocate the available prize(s) through a further draw or to divide the prize(s) or the value of the prize(s) between the winners (and runners up) of the Competition.

Entries:
Listeners will be directed to the station webpage to submit their entry. Entries will be accepted for the first 2 weeks of the campaign from go live. A short list of 10 clubs will be randomly selected from the list of eligible clubs entered. In order to make the shortlist, all clubs must be FAI Club Mark accredited.

In the final week, from the shortlist, the public will be encouraged to vote for their preferred football club from the shortlist via the landing page. The top three teams with the most votes win the kits. Winners will be announced on air.

All eligible clubs (FAI Club Mark accredited football clubs) who enter the competition will be entered into a grand finale nationwide draw in May 2025 to win a VIP training session and Meet & Greet with Ireland’s Men’s National Team.

By entering a Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete. Entries to the Competition must be the original work of the author. Entries which are or in the Promoter's reasonable opinion appear to be plagiarised or done by or with the assistance of a third party will be disqualified. Entrants represent and warrant that:
(a) they have obtained all rights, licences, and permissions necessary, in writing, from any person who may have helped create and/or be featured in their entry
(b) that their entry to the Competition (including any text, recordings, videos and photographs):
(i) does not contain or feature any personal or private information about any person (including their name, contact details, a photograph of them and/or any other identifying information) without that person's consent (proof of which must be provided to the Promoter upon request);
(ii) does not contain any content that is defamatory, libellous, racist, homophobic, derogatory, pornographic, obscene, sexist, illegal, and/or otherwise inappropriate;
(iii) does not include trade marks, logos, or copyright protected material which belongs to third parties without permission (including company names, music, photographs, motion picture or television programme clips or audio tracks, works of art, or images published on or in websites, television, movies, or other media);
(iv) is not subject to any third party agreements and the Promoter will not be required to pay any sums to any third party as a result of the Promoter's use (as set out in these Terms and Conditions) or the exploitation by the Promoter of the idea, video or other rights contained in any entry; and
(v) does not contain any known virus, trojan horse, worm, trapdoor or similar software that may in any way infect or affect any of the Promoter's hardware or software systems.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these Rules or any Specific Rules or any other terms and conditions that apply to any Competition. Furthermore, entrants who are rude or abusive to, harass or threaten the Promoter and/or other entrants, tamper with, deceive, cheat or hack the Competition, collude with others in entering the Competition, are charged or convicted of any criminal offence or are deemed otherwise unsuitable by the Promoter, will be excluded from the relevant Competition.

The Promoter shall not be responsible for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering, or being unable to enter, any Competition or as a result of accepting any Competition prize.

The Promoter shall not be held responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line system, servers or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any e-mail or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, telephone lines or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in a Competition. Nothing shall exclude the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence or for any other matter where liability may not be excluded as a matter of law.

Winners and Prizes

  • Winners will be chosen by level of votes, see competition mechanic for details.
  • Winning clubs will be excluded from winning any other region
  • Clubs can enter as many times as they wish
  • Clubs must be FAI Club Mark accredited to be eligible of winning
  • If the winning club has an existing sponsor, new kits provided will not feature said sponsor

The Promoter will endeavour to notify and deliver prizes to winners of each Competition within 42 days of receiving the order form. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable or failure to reply within 30 days or as specified in the notification may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner.
In the case of Competition prizes in the form of free tickets for a particular event, the Promoter will contact the prize winner by phone and prize details shall be printed on the event tickets. Ticket holders shall be bound by (a) these Rules, (b) any Specific Rules that apply, (c) any terms and conditions set out on the event tickets and (d) the rules and regulations of the particular venue (as applicable).
All Competition prizes are subject to availability.

All taxes, insurances, transfers, spending money and other expenses, unless specifically stated, are the sole responsibility of the prize-winner.
No Competition prize may be transferred or assigned to any other person and no cash alternative or alternative prize is available. In the event of the advertised Competition prize

being unavailable for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize.

Competition prizes are awarded at the Promoter’s sole discretion and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any entrant. The Promoter reserves the right to require entrants to prove that they are eligible. If a winner is found to be ineligible, the Promoter reserves the right to award their prize to another entrant and to require the return of any prize already awarded.
No responsibility will be accepted for inaccurate Competition prize details supplied by a third party promoter. The provision of the prize does not imply endorsement by the Promoter of any third party supplier of the prize or any other third parties concerned in any way with the Competition. Any complaints or queries relating to the use of the prize should be directed to the third party supplier of the prize, where applicable

Specific promotion details
 Prize supplied as follows – kit bag, socks, shorts, jersey.
 Kit sizes will be provided as per completed sizing document when received by the station. No changes can be made once the sizing document has been completed by the winner.
 No alternative prize will be given in place. No cash/voucher as alternative prize.  Kit supplied through Diamas Sport Ireland, under the Umbro brand and no other supplier will be provided.  All clubs entering must be FAI Club Mark accredited clubs.
 The number of kits supplied to teams for the following age groups: o 8-10s (7 a side) - set of 12
o 11-12s (9 a side) - set of 14
o 13+ (11 a side) - set of 16

Publicity and Data Protection
On delivery of kits to winning teams video footage will be taken for a post campaign video promotion across social media.
Competition winners will be required to take part in or co-operate with publicity or any other form of promotional activity. The Promoter reserves the right to use the names and general location of winners, their photograph and any recordings of them (be it audio or visual) in any publicity or promotion and the Promoter has the right to use such photos, videos or films in any medium and in any reasonable manner for any purpose as it may see fit. All Competition entrants agree to their name and hometown being published on-air and elsewhere in accordance with regulatory requirements. Entrants agree to their participation being broadcast, recorded, repeated and otherwise used for any reason by the Promoter without being entitled to any payment or expenses for such use.
The Promoter will collect and process entrants' personal information and it will be shared with the Promoter's agents, affiliates and, if applicable, any third party prize provider.

(including those outside the European Economic Area). Information provided by entrants will only be used for the purpose of conducting this Competition (including for prizes to be delivered) and other purposes as may be specified at the time of entry or on promotional materials. If entrants do not provide any of the mandatory information requested when participating in the Competition, their entry will be void. Personal information will be retained in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place from time to time (see http://www.newsprivacy.co.uk/single/).

General
Entrants agree to keep confidential any information of whatsoever nature regarding Wireless Group Limited and related companies and their respective businesses, personnel, agents, sponsors and event promoters received by entrants as a result of winning or participating in any Competition.

Each Competition (including these Rules, any Specific Rules and all matters incidental thereto) shall be governed by Irish law and all parties shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

Any enquiries regarding these Rules and any Specific Rules should be directed to: Q102, Macken House, Upper Mayor Street, Dublin 1.d their immediate families are ineligible to enter. Any such entries will be invalid. For these purposes, immediate family includes partner, grandchild, child, brother, step-brother, sister, step-sister, parent, step-parent, or grandparent of you or your partner or anyone noted as next of kin on any legal document.

1.3 Galway Bay Fm reserves the right to require proof of age and evidence to verify the identity of an entrant at any time, and may use any reasonable channels and methods available to carry out checks of any details provided by entrants. Full name (first and surname) given at time of entry to any station competition or giveaway must precisely match that on the photo ID produced at time of collecting prize with no exceptions.

1.4 The opening and closing date and time for entries is as indicated in the competition information. Any entries received before or after these times will be disregarded.

1.5 Entry to the competition must be by the applicable method(s) and in accordance with the deadlines as indicated in the competition information.

1.6 Galway Bay FM will make every effort to contact by telephone/email all those who qualify for a Galway Bay FM Final as part of a major station promotion. However, it is the responsibility of the qualifier to ensure they are present with valid photo ID at the Final (details will be on our website relating to each event).

1.7 Galway Bay Fm is not responsible after the event for any qualifiers who do not attend a Galway Bay Fm major station promotion final.
<h2>2: ENTRY METHODS</h2>
Entry may be by any of the following methods, subject to the competition information:
<h3>2.1 Telephone Entry</h3>
Phone entrants are required to call the telephone number as indicated in the competition information, and follow the instructions in the recorded message. Entrants will be required to leave an answer to the relevant competition question, their full name, address and a daytime contact telephone number. The charge per call will be as indicated in the competition information. Calls made from mobiles and payphones in the Republic of Ireland may vary. The total cost will be dependent on the entrant’s network. Other landline and mobile operators’ network charges may vary. Galway Bay Fm, does not accept responsibility for any call charges. Entrants must have the permission of the bill payer before calling. Once the telephone number is dialed and the entrant is connected, you will be charged the cost of entry (together with any applicable alternative network or mobile operators’ charge). Galway Bay Fm does not accept responsibility for any interruption to any telephone call which is beyond its control. Entrants may be able to enter the competition from outside (although entry is restricted to ROI residents) but charges will depend on the relevant service provider’s international call rates. There is no warranty that the service is available or appropriate for use in locations outside NI and ROI.
<h3>2.2 SMS Entry</h3>
SMS entrants are required to send a text message (SMS) to the shortcode as indicated in the competition information. The charge per SMS will be the price indicated in the competition information plus standard network charges. The total cost will therefore be dependent on the entrant’s network. Galway Bay Fm does not accept responsibility for any SMS entry charges. SMS entrants will receive an SMS (reverse-bill) confirmation text message of their entry. Entrants must have the permission of the bill payer before texting. Entrants may be able to enter the competition from outside ROI (although entry is restricted ROI residents). There is no warranty that the service is available or appropriate for use in locations ROI. Charges for entering the competition will depend on the relevant service provider’s international text message rates. Charges will be deducted from the entrant’s available credit time if they are a pre-pay customer or appear on their monthly statement if they are a pay-monthly customer.
<h3>2.3 Web Entry</h3>
Web entrants are required to follow the instructions on the Galway Bay Fm website as indicated in the competition information. Entrants will see a message confirming their entry to the competition when they have completed the online entry form. Web entrants will be required to answer a question to the relevant competition and supply their name, email address, home address and a contact telephone number along with any other details. There is usually no charge for website entries.
<h3>2.4 Postal Entry</h3>
Where applicable you may enter the competition by sending a postcard with your answer, full name, email address and a contact telephone number to the postal address indicated in the competition information. There is no charge for postal entries other than the cost of postage. Entries sent by post must reach Galway Bay Fm at the correct address by the specified deadline for entries. Postal entries are deemed to be received upon arrival at Galway Bay Fm at the correct address. Galway Bay Fm, does not accept responsibility for any incorrectly addressed or undelivered entries or for any disruption, delay or misdirection of postal entries.
<h2>3: VALID ENTRIES</h2>
3.1 Any entries which are incomplete, incorrect, inaudible, incomprehensible, or not received by Galway Bay Fm by the due deadline will be void.

3.2 An entry to the competition will be deemed to be invalid where an entrant has evaded payment of any applicable entry charges.

3.3 In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the correctness or acceptability of any answers given by entrants, or the operation of any part of the competition, network or phone system, the decision of Galway Bay Fm shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

3.4 Galway Bay Fm, and its ultimate parent group, will not be liable to reimburse expenses incurred in making an entry and no refund will be made for the cost of any entry.

3.5 Galway Bay Fm, and its ultimate parent group, reserves the right to reject bulk entries.
<h2>4: PRIZES</h2>
4.1 Only one prize per person is permissible, except where otherwise stated in the competition information.

4.2 The prize is as specified in the competition information. The winner is solely responsible for all insurance, applicable taxes and for any costs, expenses and charges not included in the prize description in the competition information. The prize is also subject to any terms and conditions of the manufacturer or supplier.

4.3 The process for determining the winner of the prize is as indicated in the competition information. Where the winner is randomly selected from all the correct and valid entries, the draw will take place on the date indicated in the competition information.

4.4 The winner will be notified on the date the winning entry is selected or as soon as practical thereafter, or as otherwise indicated in the competition information. You will be contacted on the phone number provided when entering the competition. You will be asked to specifically confirm that you are resident ROI, that you are not related to any Galway Bay Fm employee, or a prize sponsor employee, and that you are aged at least 18 years of age or otherwise if stated in the competition information, dependant on the competition. You will have a specified fixed time period in which to claim your prize, usually 30 days unless otherwise specified in the competition information. Failure to respond within the specified time period may result in forfeiture of the prize although Galway Bay Fm will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner to ensure this does not happen. However, Galway Bay Fm reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a winner is found.

Winners must collect tickets for all events/concerts/exhibitions for a specified date by 5pm the day prior to the event itself. If the event falls on a Sunday, tickets must be collected by the Thursday prior at 5pm and if the event falls on a Monday, they must be collected by the Friday prior at 5pm. After these specified times, tickets will no longer be available.

4.5 Galway Bay Fm may refuse to provide a prize, or may seek its recovery, in the event of non-entitlement under these Terms or an entrant’s breach of these Terms, or the competition information, or fraud or dishonesty.

4.6 Galway Bay Fm reserves the right in its sole discretion to withhold delivery of a prize until proof of eligibility and identity has been confirmed and to disqualify the entrant in the event this is not provided, within any period specified by Galway Bay Fm .

4.7 Galway Bay Fm endeavours to deliver the prize to the winner within twenty eight (28) days from the date of the claim, unless otherwise specified in the competition information. Delivery restrictions may apply to specific competitions.

4.8 No cash equivalent or alternative prize will be given and the prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. However, Galway Bay Fm reserves the right to change the prize due to circumstances beyond its control or to offer an alternative of similar value. Galway Bay Fm is not obliged to supply a replacement prize won for any concerts/events/exhibitions which are cancelled by the promoter.

4.9 Where the prize includes a cheque, such cheque will be made payable to the name of the winning entry in euro. A cheque prize cannot be made payable to any third party. No other form of payment will be made.

4.91 Through entering this promotion all contestants agree to the terms of this promotion.

4.92 If sponsors have agreed to provide the prize and for whatever reason, are unable to deliver the prize, Galway Bay Fm has no obligation to provide a substitute or alternative prize. No cash alternative will be available.
<h2>5: LIABILITY</h2>
5.1 Nothing in these terms and conditions restricts your statutory rights as a consumer. For more details on your statutory rights you should contact your local Trading Standards Office or Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

5.2 Galway Bay Fm excludes liability for any fault, malfunction, damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any entrant howsoever arising from participating in any competition whether due to any error, omission or other cause by Galway Bay Fm, its employees, agents or others to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, Galway Bay Fm is not responsible for any damage or loss caused to an entrant where such damage or loss is not reasonably foreseeable including where the damage or loss results from Galway Bay Fm’s breach of these terms and conditions.

5.3 In the case of a technical fault which results in a caller being charged and not entered in the competition, Galway Bay Fm will make every effort to ensure that all callers affected are contacted and refunds organised. If a caller has withheld their number, we will provide a refund upon receipt of a phone bill showing the charge. Where a caller cannot be contacted, the amount of the refund will be donated to charity.

5.4 Galway Bay Fm does not accept liability for any damage or loss caused to you where you are not entering into a competition as a consumer.

5.5 Galway Bay Fm cannot promise that the various processes involved in providing the competition will be free from errors or omissions nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition at all times. These services may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons reasonably beyond the control of Galway Bay Fm. Galway Bay Fm will not be liable to you or to any other person in the event that all or any part of these services are discontinued, modified or changed in any way.

5.6 Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit Galway Bay Fm’s liability for death or personal injury caused by their staff or supplier’s negligence or for fraud.
<h2>6. STANDARD TERMS</h2>
6.1 In the event that any entrant does not, or is unable to comply with these Terms and Conditions or the competition information, Galway Bay Fm shall be entitled at its sole discretion to disqualify such entrant, without any further liability to such entrant. Entrants must comply with any directions given to them by Galway Bay Fm including in relation to any and all relevant laws, rules and regulations, and where applicable, compliance with the Broadcasting Code.

6.2 These terms and conditions are available in English only and shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of ROI.

6.3 Please note that calls may be recorded to ensure that competition entries are captured and for staff training and quality control purposes.

6.4 Galway Bay Fm reserves the right to withdraw or amend any competition as necessary due to circumstances outside its reasonable control.

6.5 Competition winners may be required to take part in publicity activity associated with the competition. Galway Bay Fm (or any third party nominated by Galway Bay Fm ) may exercise its sole discretion to use the winner’s (and, if applicable, their companion’s) name and image and their comments relating to the prize and competition experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media without notice and without any fee being paid.
<h2>7. DATA PROTECTION</h2>
7.1 Information and data which is provided by entrants when they enter (“personal data”) will be held and used by Galway Bay Fm, its ultimate parent group and their suppliers and contractors in order to administer the competition. Entrants’ personal data may also be passed to their mobile phone provider or to relevant regulatory bodies, the police or other authorities in the course of the investigation of any complaints or suspected unlawful activity or where requested by the phone provider in connection with the billing arrangements for the competition. Aggregate and non personal data may also be used for the purpose of undertaking market research or in facilitating reviews, developments and improvements to relevant services.

7.2 Any personal data will only otherwise be used in accordance with Galway Bay Fm Privacy Policy (???) will only use an entrant’s data to send information of offers or services that may be of interest to that entrant from time to time or to pass that entrant’s data to carefully selected third parties if that entrant has selected by opting-in to receive such information.
<h2>8. FACEBOOK</h2>
8.1 Galway Bay Fm does not hold the responsibility for technical failures on any of the Facebook’s pages or groups including Galway Bay Fm’s Official Facebook page, Galway Bay Fm’s employees’ official and private accounts/pages or listeners’ Facebook accounts/pages that may or may not contribute to technical problems with cumulating competition entries or with picking the qualifiers or the winner.

8.2 With regards to Galway Bay Fm competitions shared on Facebook that include specific time frames in their mechanics (whether such time frames are revealed to the public or not), Galway Bay Fm is not responsible for any technical faults or differences shown on different brands of smart phones, computers or other technical devices

8.3 Galway Bay Fm does not take responsibility for accounts being suspended, blocked, banned or frozen by Facebook during the duration of the competitions. Users are fully responsible for checking the limits of comments/likes/shares as well as using other Facebook mechanics that can affect them in accordance to Facebook’s spamming policies.

8.4 The time of closing the competition will be decided prior to the competition going live and witnessed by another member of staff.
<h2>9. TWITTER</h2>
9.1 Galway Bay Fm does not hold the responsibility for technical failures on any of the Twitter accounts including Galway Bay Fm’s Official Twitter page, Galway Bay Fm’s employees’ official and private accounts/pages or listeners’ Twitter accounts that may or may not contribute to technical problems with cumulating competition entries or with picking the qualifiers or the winner.

9.2 With regards to Galway Bay Fm competitions shared on Twitter that include specific time frames in their mechanics (whether such time frames are revealed to the public or not), Galway Bay Fm is not responsible for any technical faults or differences shown on different smart phones, computers or other technical devices. It is the responsibility of the Galway Bay Fm panel to draw the winner and all decisions made by such panel person are final.

9.3 Galway Bay Fm does not take responsibility for accounts being suspended, blocked, banned or frozen by Twitter during the duration of the competitions. Users are fully responsible for checking the limits of retweets as well as using other Twitter mechanics that can affect them in accordance to Twitter’s policies.
