Galway Bay FM, the Sound of Galway, is an independent local radio station, which operates under a licence from the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland. Established in 1989, the station broadcasts from its studios in Sandy Road, Galway City, serving Galway City and County.
We currently wish to recruit a permanent Radio Sales Executive.
The Radio Sales Executive will be responsible for developing and establishing long-term business relationships with clients. The successful candidate will be required to source and secure new business opportunities; fact find and take briefs from clients; engage in copy writing with the production department; generate creative solutions for clients and present campaign proposals. It is critical that the person actively supports revenue generation by meeting sales performance targets.
The ability to work well with a team is an absolute necessity as the role requires close collaboration with colleagues involved in marketing, sponsorship, promotions, events, publicity and programming.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in Radio Sales or other relevant experience. The person should, as a minimum, be qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline. They will be experienced in building a client network that delivers against required performance targets. They will have excellent communication and presentation skills, strong copy writing skills, demonstrable ability of developing creative solutions for clients. The ability to work under their own initiative is imperative along with an innate ability to “work the room” at events to identify and pursue prospects. All of the successful candidates work must comply with media law, regulation and industry codes, so a working knowledge of these requirements must be demonstrated.
