Corofin jockey Rossa Ryan had the biggest win of his career yesterday as he rode Bluestocking to victory in the Prix De l’Arc De Triomphe in Longchamp. Rossa’s victory was the first for an Irish jockey at the event since Mick Kinnane in 2009.
The prize money for the owner, Juddmonte Racing Group, is €2,857,000 with Ryan expected to get 7.5% of that which would earn him €215,625. Bluestocking is trained by Ralph Beckett, who joined Juddmonte as a trainer in 2016 following the death of the wildly successful trainer Sir Henry Cecil.
Rossa was unsurprisingly elated after his victory and said he had great confidence in his mount.
