KPMG extend title sponsorship of Women's Irish Open

KPMG has announced a three-year extension of its partnership as the title sponsor of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open. This announcement extends KPMG’s commitment to women’s golf in Ireland, a role the firm embraced in 2022 when the tournament triumphantly returned after a ten-year hiatus.

The 2024 KPMG Women’s Irish Open, held over four days in Carton House, welcomed almost 40,000. Tournament attendance has increased 46% since KPMG came onboard as title sponsor in 2022, further boosting the Women’s Irish Open's visibility to combined audiences of over 100 million.

The 2024 tournament alone contributed an estimated €7 million in direct spending, including across food, drink, accommodation, event suppliers, rental activities, construction, and utilities, further bolstering the wider Irish economy with an estimated €4.6 million in economic output.

KPMG has a long and proud heritage in the game of golf, both in Ireland and abroad, having been the title sponsor of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship since 2015, one of five majors in the women’s golf calendar, along with its ongoing support of Irish golfer Leona Maguire. KPMG is also the title sponsor of the KPMG Irish Kids Golf Tour, which is open to girls and boys aged 6 to 13 years old and features some of the best young golfers in Ireland.

Stephen King, Partner at KPMG Ireland, added: “We are incredibly proud to extend our sponsorship of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open as we continue to support golf, and women’s sport in Ireland. The tournament’s resurgence has been remarkable, and we are delighted to see its positive impact extend beyond the golf course, into the surrounding communities. It was fantastic to see how many young girls and boys attended this year’s tournament and we hope the KPMG Women’s Irish Open continues to inspire them over the coming years.”

Cian Branagan, CEO of Forefront, added: It’s wonderful to see a global brand like KPMG committing further to growing and supporting women’s golf in Ireland and it marks an amazing vote of confidence in the sport that they have decided to continue with the partnership. We look forward to working closely with KPMG over the next three years, continuing to provide a world-class platform on which to showcase some of the best golfing talent from Ireland and across the globe.”
