The Tánaiste says today is a "big day" for healthcare in Galway - as he cut the ribbon on two new major facilities at Merlin Park.
One is an Outpatients Department, which will facilitate many of the outpatient clinics currently held at UHG.
The other is a dedicated Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit, developed to meet the needs of modern patients who primarily rely on outpatient care.
Speaking at the opening this morning, Tánaiste Michéal Martin said these important developments will relieve pressure on UHG.
