An open day will be held in Knocknacarra next week, to showcase plans for a new Regional Aquatic Centre.
As well as swimming facilities, the center would also offer a multi-use sports hall and gym.
It's led by non-profit company Forbairt Snamh Thiar, and is currently funded by private donors, with an eye towards securing future Government funding.
They expect to make a planning application in the very near future.
The open evening to showcase the plans will be held in the Clybaun hotel on Monday 11th November from 6pm to 9pm.
Speaking to John Morley, organiser Shane Heskin explained what the Galway Regional Aquatic Centre will look like.
