People Before Profit have announced that Maisie McMaster will stand for election in Galway West.
Maisie describes herself as a Eco-Socialist activist, and claims Fine Gael and Fianna Fail have created a legacy of hospital waiting lists, a housing crisis, and lack of supports for children.
She ran in the recent local elections but was unsuccessful, being eliminated in Galway City West in the early stages.
And Maisie conceded to John Morley that she's not likely to make any gains in a general election - but said running is important.
