Galway City Council launches new parking app for online payment

Galway City Council has launched its new parking app.

The 'Galway City Parking' app can be downloaded now, and it allows drivers to pay for parking around the city from their phone.

The app is bilingual, with options, parking areas and other information written in English and 'As Gaeilge'.

After the downloading the app for the first time for free, you'll be prompted to register an account.

For this, you'll need your name, contact details, a password and your vehicle registration.

You'll then be brought to a home screen area, which has options to buy parking, top up your account via card and check your parking status.

You can also add your payment options using a secure code, and add extra vehicles to your account.

There's also a map on the parking screen, where you can see the parking areas across the city centre.

There is no extra charge for paying for parking on the Galway City Parking app, and parking charges remain the same.

The new app is available to download now from wherever you get your apps, just look for the city council logo. ]
