The festive season has arrived in Galway city, as the Christmas Market opens from midday today.
The 14th edition of the market is taking over Eyre Square for almost a month, finishing up on Sunday January 5th.
Over 60 wooden chalets line the Square as usual, along with the beer tent and 32 metre high Big Wheel.
Almost half a million people passed through the market last year, which was the first year of its extended run.
From Monday-Wednesdays the market will be open from midday until 8PM, with bars open until 10PM.
While the whole market will be open from 10AM-10PM for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with an earlier closing time on Sunday of 8PM.
It'll close for two days over its 8-week run - closing at 2PM on Christmas Eve, and reopening at 12 noon on St Stephen's Day.
While from January 1st, all that will remain is the vintage carousel and the Big Wheel.
