Galway City Council is to consider a new public library in Ballyburke in Knocknacarra.
At a meeting at City Hall, there was discussion on progress of a new social housing development earmarked for a site near Colaiste na Coiribe.
As part of the development, there'll be a number of community units - one of which will be a creche.
And Councillor John Connolly proposed that another be used as a new public library - and this will now be looked at.
Fianna Fail Councillor Connolly says it'd be an excellent location.
