Work is expected to get underway in November on six bus shelters for several towns across the county.
That was the latest update from council officials at a recent meeting in County Hall.
The towns to benefit are Headford, Moycullen, Mountbellew, Craughwell, Moylough and Ballymoe.
Fine Gael Councillor for the Tuam area, Andrew Reddington, says some towns have been crying out for a shelter for years.
