Works begin for new walkway at Wolfe Tone Bridge

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Works have begun for the construction of a new walkway on the south side of Wolfe Tone Bridge in Galway city

Works will include the addition of a pedestrian crossing, along with the widening and reconstruction of footpaths.

The City Council says the new walkway will improve pedestrian safety, as well as providing uninterrupted views of the Claddagh and the Corrib.

The walkway is expected to open to the public in summer 2024.
