Galway Bay fm newsroom - Construction has commenced on a new school building for Gaelscoil Riabhach in Loughrea.
The project will involve a new two-storey 12-classroom school to be located at Cosmona, adjacent to the Loughrea bypass.
The rapid build project is expected to reach completion by the end of the year.
Gaelscoil Riabhach was founded in 2000 and currently offers multi-denominational education through Irish to over 180 pupils.

The school will celebrate the commencement of the new build with a formal sod-turning event on Thursday afternoon at 12.
