Work is underway to replace water mains on Headford Road in city

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Work is underway to replace 700m of watermains on the N84 Headford Road in the city.

Uisce Eireann says the current mains are susceptible to regular bursts.

Traffic lights are in place during the project, but it is being carried out in short sections to minimise disruption.

There'll also likely be some short-term water disruptions, but affected homes and businesses will be given 48 hours notice.

It's expected the works will be completed by the end of August.
