Galway Bay fm newsroom - Work is to officially begin next week on a long awaited upgrade at Athenry's sewerage treatment plant.
Junior Minister and Galway East TD Ciaran Cannon says contractors will move on-site next Tuesday.
Work will then begin immediately on the upgrade, which will increase the capacity of the facility.
Minister Cannon says the works will allow Athenry to continue to grow.
