Galway Bay fm newsroom - One woman has been taken to hospital following a house fire in Athenry overnight.
The woman was taken to UHG as a precautionary measure.
Gardai were called to the occupied home in the Raheen area at around 3am.
Two units of Athenry fire brigade and one unit of the city bridage also attended.

The blaze has now been brought under control.
Gardai are this morning preserving the scene for a technical examination.
