Westbound and eastbound M6 lanes between Ballinasloe East Junction and Athlone closed

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Both westbound and eastbound lanes are closed this morning on the M6 between the Ballinasloe East Junction and Athlone

The closure is to allow a technical examination of the scene of last evening's crash and the safe removal of the two lorries involved

One man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the Eastbound crash just before 6 last evening

As a result of the examination and the removal operation the westbound lane is expected to reopen later this morning while the eastbound lane is expected to remain closed until this afternoon.
