Galway Bay fm newsroom - A water supply has been restored to over a thousand customers in the Moylough and Kilkerrin areas after a issue with water quality over the weekend.
The water supply was disrupted to areas supplied by Slieveroe water tower due to deterioration in the raw water quality because of heavy rainfall.
County council and Irish Water crews worked on the water quality issue over the weekend and restored it to acceptable levels last evening.
Irish Water says it will take several hours for the network to refill some areas will not have water returned until later this morning, mainly in Moylough.
Householders and businesses are urged to conserve water until a full supply is built up again.
