Warning to Galway public over risk of wildfires as dry spell continues

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Galway public is being urged to be vigilant due to the risk of wild-fires over the coming days.

Fire crews from An Cheathrú Rua attended a gorse fire at Lettercallow overnight and a gorse fire continues to smoulder on Ardoileán, although fire crews can't access the island.

There was also a large blaze near the Arigna mountains in north Roscommon last night.

A spell of dry weather, with moderate winds, has increased the fire riisk.
