Visiting restrictions have been put in place at University Hospital Galway due to an outbreak of the vomiting bug.
Visits to St Enda's ward are now limited to compassionate grounds.
There has been an increase in the number of cases of Norovirus in the community.
The hospital is requesting anyone experiencing diarrhoea and/or vomiting or who has had contact with anyone with these symptoms not to visit the hospital.

This will help to avoid spreading the virus to sick vulnerable patients.
