From Galway Bay FM newsroom- US multinational Integer has announced it has purchased Connemara firm Aran Biomedical for €120m.
Aran Biomedical, based in Spiddal, offers expert design, development and manufacturing solutions for medical devices.
Located on the edge of Galway Bay, Aran Medical was named after the iconic three Aran Islands of Inis Oirr, Inis Meain and Inis Mor.
Aran Biomedical currently employs around 130 people and generated sales of $17 million in 2021, nearly doubling sales from the previous year.
Integer Holdings Corporation, based in Texas, has now announced the acquisition of the Connemara firm in a deal worth €120m.
It says the move will further increases Integer’s ability to offer complete solutions for complex delivery and therapeutic devices in high growth cardiovascular markets.
It adds Aran brings with it a reputation of delivering exceptional innovation, expertise and service to leading and emerging customers in the medical device industry.
