University of Galway gets €2m for breast cancer research

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The University of Galway is to receive two million euro in funding for breast cancer research.

The investment by the National Breast Cancer Research Institute aims to further world-class research at the university over the next two years.

The funds will go towards projects led by Professor Michael Kerin; Professor Aoife Lowery; Dr Róisín Dwyer; and Dr Nicola Miller.

Some of those projects include the development of the Cancer Biobank, along clinical research on breast cancer imaging and post treatment support
