Union calls for safeguards to protect teachers from canvassing

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Teachers Union of Ireland says there's an urgent need for safeguards to protect teachers from canvassing on behalf of Leaving Cert students.

The decision to cancel this year's exams and replace them with calculated grades has been supported by the TUI and ASTI over the weekend.

The TUI says a protocol is needed to also ensure this emergency system is fair for all students, irrespective of their socioeconomic background.
