Galway Bay fm newsroom - University Hospital Galway was the third most overcrowded nationwide for the month of July.
707 people were forced to wait on trolleys or in wards at the hospital this month.
University Hospital Limerick was the most overcrowded with 1,293 forced to wait for admission.
This is followed by Cork University Hospital with 1,079.
The figures have been published today by the Irish Nurses and Midwives organisation.
The group argues vital roles across all services, at all grades, in all hospitals are left unfilled.
