UHG says hospital under "significant pressure" as 62 patients on trolleys

Galway Bay fm newsroom - UHG has issued a statement, advising the public that the Emergency Department is "extremely busy" and under significant pressure.

It's as new figures from the INMO show that are 62 patients on trolleys at the city hospital today.

UHG says all available beds are now in use, and every effort is being made to discharge patients who are ready to go home.

In the statement, it acknowledges the delays are very difficult for patients and their families, and apologises for the inconvenience and distress caused.
