UHG has fourth highest number of Covid 19 patients nationwide

Galway Bay fm newsroom - UHG is treating 26 Covid 19 patients today - the fourth highest number of such admissions nationwide.

Four patients are being treated in the ICU at the city acute hospital.

There are two Covid 19 patients receiving care at Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe, with none in the the ICU.

Nationally, there are 384 Covid patients in hospital - an increase of 18 in 24 hours - of whom 59 are in intensive care.

It comes as last evening the Department of Health confirmed 1,144 further cases of the virus, down 36 on the day before.
