Two University of Galway graduates to be appointed as District Court Judges

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Two University of Galway graduates, Fiona Brennan and Adrian Harris, are to be appointed as District Court Judges

They are included in eight judicial positions created as a result of the Government’s commitment to invest in the justice sector

They will see the number of District Court Judges increase from 63 to 71

Fiona Brennan qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and is a self-employed Sole Practitioner in Criminal Law since 2015

Prior to her role in Michael J. Staines and Company solicitors for 20 years Fiona clerked in the Public Defenders’ Office in Los Angeles County.

Oughterard native Adrian Harris qualified as a solicitor in 1997

He’s a Senior Associate Solicitor at Padhraic Harris and Co. Solicitors on Merchant’s Road in Galway city

President Higgins will make the appointments as District Court Judges in accordance with constitutional practice.
