It's understood the truck had arrived from France carrying band equipment.

In a series of recent tweets on Twitter, the group says it's relieved the 3 young men are alive and well but their struggle doesn't end now.

The group added that there is so much hate directed towards asylum seekers and we need more compassion and empathy.

One of the final tweets stated that the band hoped the three would be accepted by 'the awesome people of Galway'.

The Garda National Immigration Bureau has been notified and is liaising with Interpol and police authorities in Sudan as part of the ongoing investigation.
