Two city food premises closed by health inspectors

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Two closure orders were served on two Galway food businesses last month.

Alfredos takeaway at Unit 9, Ballybane Shopping Centre was closed under the FSAI Act after health officers described the entire premises as 'being in filthy condition'.

Meanwhile, a closure order was served on Corrib Catering, Leisureland Salthill under the EC Official Control of Foodstuffs Regulations.

This closure order was precautionary to allow Health inspectors investigate an alleged breakout of Norovirus in Galway.

The food samples taken from Leisureland were found to be clear, and the food outlet in the Salthill leisure complex re-opened one week later, and the business continues to operate as normal.
