Galway Bay fm newsroom - Two people have been arrested after €70 thousand worth of cannabis was seized in Dunmore.
Gardai attached to the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit discovered the drugs at an underground bunker.
Gardai carried out the search in the Dunmore area under warrant yesterday, and discovered the entrance to a bunker hidden behind a large solar panel fixture.
Cannabis plants worth almost €53 thousand was seized, as well as cannabis herb valued at a further €11,500.
A woman in her 60's and a man in his 30's were both arrested at the scene and are currently detained at the Garda Divisional Headquarters at Renmore.
A follow up search was carried out in Galway city last evening, and a further €6 thousand in cannabis herb was discovered.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
