Tuam Municipal District Council is planning to honour local high flying jockey Rossa Ryan following his win in the prestigious Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, one of the richest races in the world.
Councillor Ollie Turner described the win earlier this month as one of the greatest and most significant achievements of any Galway athlete.
The 24-year-old Corofin jockey is going from success to success and was crowned British All-Weather Champion Jockey of the 2023-24 season.
Councillor Donagh Killilea's motion to formally honour Rossa Ryan has been unanimously agreed.
