Trial initiative to combat theft and vandalism of ring buoys across city

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A trial initiative is to be rolled out to combat the theft and vandalism of ring buoys across the city.

It comes as more than €36 thousand has been spent over the past three years on replacement buoys.

A trial has already been rolled out in Dublin City and involves the installation of smart sensors.

Councillor Eddie Hoare says this is a vital project that will support the excellent work done by local volunteers.
