Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Town Hall Theatre says it's talking to its promoters as it moves forward to operate with new restrictions coming into force from this evening.
Hospitality venues, cinemas and theatres will have to close at 8pm each night, from tonight.
It's part of efforts to contain the spread of the highly-transmissible new Omicron variant.
The restrictions will be in place until the end of January, but are being kept under review.
Fergal McGrath is Venue Director at the Town Hall Theatre and told Galway Talks a busy January had been planned with the schedule now 'up in the air' due to the recent announcement of new restrictions for the sector including early closure and capacity limits.
He told Keith Finnegan concerts and film screenings are now being reviewed with options such as matinées, early evening performances or deferrals until Spring....
