Galway Bay fm newsroom - Three government departments are now collaborating to work out a solution for traffic congestion at Parkmore.
It follows a meeting between Local Government Minister Simon Coveney, Parkmore based companies and Galway Chamber, organised by Galway West T.D Hildegarde Naughton.
Now, the Department of Transport, the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Minister Coveney's Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government are working together to address the crisis.
Deputy Naughton says that in the coming months there will be an extension to the N6 right-turning lane at Parkmore and a realignment of the Doughiska junction to aid bus access.
Deputy Naughton says the departments are tackling the problem from several angles.
