Thousands to descend on Galway for this weekend’s International Oyster Festival

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Thousands of people are set to descend on Galway city this weekend for the International Oyster & Seafood Festival.

Last year, over 5,000 people attending the festival over its three-day run, with organisers expecting even more attendees this year.

The 69th festival will kick off this evening at Nimmo’s Pier, with the annual National Oyster Opening Championships event.

While a parade of competitors will take to the streets at 12:30 tomorrow (Saturday) and there will be a free family day on Sunday
