Galway Bay fm newsroom - Tenders are being sought for the preliminary design of a road widening proposal on the N83 at Bridge Street in the heart of Dunmore.
It's part of the rural regeneration scheme with works to be led by Galway county council.
The project would involve the acquisition and demolition of five derelict properties in the centre of Dunmore town.
It would also see the road carriageway widened, the construction of wide footpaths, the addition of public lighting and the overall improvement of the public realm aspect.
Broadband infrastructure would also be installed.
The deadline for submission of tenders for preliminary design works is September 6th.
The proposal is subject to future funding and ongoing negotiations with relevant stakeholders.
